ACDE Launches New Network Focussing on Professional Experience
Network of Academic Directors of Professional Experience
A new ACDE network, which aims to ensure that teacher education students have rich professional experiences, has been launched in Melbourne.
Deakin University’s Professor Christine Ure led the May 6 meeting of the Network of Academic Directors of Professional Experience (NADPE), which was attended by approximately 40 Academic Directors of Professional Experience, or equivalent positions.
All enthusiastically supported prioritising four areas related to last year’s Teacher Education Ministerial Advisory Group (TEMAG) Report recommendations.
These are:
- The current status of, and future directions for, professional experience
- Evidence of practice and associated timelines for gathering evidence
- Partnerships around professional experience
- Capstone assessment
NADPE will now establish Terms of Reference and a Steering Group with a representative from each state and territory and the Australian Indigenous Lecturers in Initial Teacher Education Association (AILITEA).
The next NADPE Meeting will be in Sydney on October 20, before the October 21 Deans’ Forum. For further information contact ACDE Project Manager, Anne Szadura on projectmanager@acde.edu.au.
